Delivered and collected
To your home, your work or your repairer. We pick it up the same way when you are done.
Keep it while you wait
Through the whole repair, or until your total-loss settlement is paid and you can replace your car.
Like-for-like where available
A ute for a ute, a seven-seater for a seven-seater. We match the car to the one you actually lost.

Answer 3 questions to see if you can apply
Whose fault it was, whether another vehicle was involved, and whether you have the other driver's details. That is the whole check.
Our fleet
A replacement that suits your life
We match the category, not a specific badge. Availability decides the exact vehicle.
Standard
Light hatch, small sedan, small SUV
The everyday replacement. Easy to park, cheap to run, suits most metro drivers whose own car is a hatch or small sedan.
View categoryFamily SUV & prestige
Mid and large SUV, European sedans
Seven seats, prams, tow bars and prestige badges. Prestige is matched to the car you actually drive, not the car you would like to drive.
View categoryEV & hybrid
Battery electric and petrol-hybrid
If your own car is electric or hybrid, we try to keep you in the same drivetrain so your running costs and charging habits do not change.
View categoryCommercial
Dual-cab ute, cab chassis, small van
For tradies and businesses. A crash should not stop the work, so we prioritise a ute or van that carries what your own one carried.

Four stages, no runaround
Apply
Answer three questions online or call us. We take your accident details, your car, the other driver and any witnesses.
Approve
We assess non-fault status and recoverability. Where the details stack up and a car is available, we aim for same-day approval.
Deliver
We deliver to your home, work or repairer and collect it the same way when your repairs finish or your total loss settles.
Finalise
We invoice the at-fault insurer and pursue recovery of the hire charges. You keep us updated and cooperate if it is disputed.
When we can help

- The accident was not your mistake
- The other driver has admitted fault, or fault can be established
- You have the other driver's name, phone or registration
- You know their insurer, or we can identify it
- Your car is off the road, being repaired, or written off
When we cannot help
- Hit and run where no other vehicle can be identified
- Single-vehicle accidents with no other party at fault
- Animal collisions, such as a kangaroo strike
- Accidents where you were at fault or mostly at fault
- Claims where the other driver cannot be traced and no details exist
- Drivers who cannot hold a current, valid Australian licence
The facts
What credit hire actually means
This is credit hire, not a free car
You are entering a hire agreement with Car Crash Rentals. Nobody hands out free cars. What we do is carry the cost while your claim runs and then pursue the at-fault insurer for it.
No upfront hire payment and no security deposit
Eligible not-at-fault drivers pay nothing up front for the hire itself and we do not hold a bond.
A credit card is required
We take a card for tolls, infringements, fuel shortfall, cleaning, damage and any insurance excess or extras. Those are yours, not the insurer's.
You remain liable for the hire charges
Under the Rental Agreement the hire charges are yours. We seek recovery from the at-fault insurer, but we cannot guarantee what any insurer will pay.
Recovery may be pursued in your name
If the at-fault insurer disputes the claim, recovery action may be issued in your name. You must cooperate, which can include providing a statement or evidence.
Two documents before any car goes out
A Rental Agreement and a Mandate and Authority to Act. Read both before you sign them. Ask us anything that is unclear.
