Mandate and Authority to Act

The second document you sign. It lets us pursue the at-fault party for the hire cost so you do not have to.

What it authorises

  • Car Crash Rentals to communicate with the at-fault driver, their insurer, your insurer, your repairer, assessors and any witness about your accident.
  • Car Crash Rentals to request and receive documents relating to the accident, including claim details, assessments and repair records.
  • Car Crash Rentals, or a solicitor we appoint, to make a claim for the hire charges against the at-fault party and to negotiate settlement of those charges.
  • Recovery proceedings for the hire charges to be commenced in your name where that is necessary, with your cooperation.

What it asks of you

  • Give truthful and complete information about the accident.
  • Cooperate with the recovery, which may include providing a signed statement, photos or evidence, or attending if a matter proceeds.
  • Tell us promptly about any contact from the other party or their insurer.
  • Not settle the hire charges component of the claim directly without telling us.

What it does not do

  • It does not make us your legal representative for your personal injury claim.
  • It does not transfer your own insurance claim or your property damage claim to us.
  • It does not guarantee any insurer will pay. No one can promise that.
